On October 26, 1993, Florida Death Metal band Malevolent Creation released their third studio album Stillborn via Roadrunner Records.
Background:
The band originally wanted to go back to Scott Burns and Morrisound Recording Studio; however, Roadrunner Records refused to provide the necessary funding. As a result, the album sold poorly and generated negative reviews, which led to the label dropping the band.
Phil Fasciana had stated in numerous interviews that he recorded the bass parts for the album.
To this day, Stillborn doesn’t get the due credit in which it deserves. With many “so called” critics claiming the album is not “groundbreaking” or that the album lacks in “production qualities”, blah, blah, blah! Regardless of what critics may say, Stillborn is one kick ass slab of old-school Florida Death Metal! Happy Anniversary to this classic album, which was released 29 years ago today! — E.N. Wells
