12 years ago today, Lock Up returned after 9 years with β€œNecropolis Transparent”!

On this day (July 1) in 2011, Super-Grinders Lock Up released their third full-length album β€œNecropolis Transparent” in Europe via Nuclear Blast (July 12, 2011 in North America).

Background:

β€œNecropolis Transparent” was recorded in November and December 2010 at HVR Studios in Ipswich, England, and features guest appearances by Peter TΓ€gtgren and Jeff Walker (Carcass, Brujeria).

In 2011, the Super-Grind group known as Lock Up, now featuring Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates), Anton β€œBehemoth” Reisenegger (Criminal, Pentagram), and Nick Barker (Brujeria, Cradle of Filth, Old Man's Child, and many more…), and founding member Shane Embury (Napalm Death) returned with their third brutal masterpiece, β€œNecropolis Transparent”. Nine years after their sophomore album β€œHate Breeds Suffering” (2002), these β€œGrind Bastards” once again prove to the world why they are the reigning titans of the genre.

Following two devastatingly superb releases, the band suffered through the tragic loss of founding guitarist Jesse Pintado (Napalm Death). Sounding pissed off and more aggressive than ever, the band returned to unleash sixteen tracks of hellfire and fury (bonus tracks not included. Refined, strengthened and honed by engineer/producer extraordinaire Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Testament, Nevermore, Exodus, Dimmu Borgir), β€œNecropolis Transparent” redefines the meaning of Extreme. β€” E.N. This is the second album to feature lead vocalist Tomas Lindberg, who also performed on 2002’s β€œHate Breeds Suffering”.

Former Lock Up and current Hypocrisy frontman Peter TΓ€gtgren appears on the tracks; β€œNecropolis Transparent”, and "Through the Eyes of My Shadow Self".

Jeff Walker (Carcass, Blackstar) appears on the tracks "The Embodiment of Paradox and Chaos", "Parasite Drama", "Unseen Enemy", and "Discharge the Fear".
