𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 — 𝗙**𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗔𝗹𝗹!!!! (2006)

17 years ago today, we bared witness to “Evil Egocentrical Existentialism” from “The Frostbitten Woodlands of Norway”! And, I loved every minute of it!

On this day (June 19) in 2006, Norwegian Black Metal band CARPATHIAN FOREST released their fifth full-length studio album “Fuck You All!!!! (Caput tuum in ano est)” via Season of Mist, and as of now, it is their most recent full-length release.

Background:

The music for “Fuck You All!!!!” was recorded in Spring 2005 but the vocals and final production were delayed as lead vocalist Nattefrost was releasing his (then) new Blackened-Punk solo opus “Terrorist: Nekronaut Pt. 1” under his Nattefrost moniker. The vocals and final production on “Fuck You All!!!!” were added in late 2005 / early 2006. The album’s layout and artwork were done by lead vocalist Nattefrost!

The album was CARPATHIAN FOREST’s first (and only) release to feature guitarist Gøran Bomann (a.k.a. "Blood Pervertor") in the band's line-up, and their last one with Tchort — both parted ways with the band in 2014 to form The 3rd Attempt.

Contrasting with the symphonic approach of their previous album, “Defending the Throne of Evil”, “Fuck You All!!!!” is a throwback to CARPATHIAN FOREST's earlier, Blackened Thrash Metal style, reminiscent of the bands debut “Black Shining Leather”.

Touring:

A full scale world tour was planned to begin prior to the albums release with scheduled stops throughout Europe, South America, Australia as well as their first ever appearances on North American soil.

Noteworthy:

The album's subtitle is Latin for "Your head is in [your] anus".

Critical Reception:

The album received many mixed to negative reviews, with Gabriel C. Zolman at metal-rules.com stating; “If there is any doubt left in your grim and frostbitten heart that Black Metal is the new Black Flag, this should quell it.”

While, John Eardley at yourlastrites.com wrote; “The gut rot growls and vomit stricken shrieks spewed forth are still spine tingling and the lyrics stack up with some of the sickest and evilest out there. But at the end of the day can we still take these lyrical themes seriously? Well, maybe we were never supposed to.” But, he ended on a semi-negative note, stating; “At the end of the day “Fuck You All!!!!!” would definitely be a fun listen after a few cocktails with the boys, but long time fans should know that this is not the same sounding band as in years past.”

But, my favorite review of all was from Lucas at Metal Storm, where he stated; “And again they have done it. Just like their mates from Darkthrone. If you would ask me who today's carriers of the Black Metal flame are, those would be the aforementioned Darkthrone and CARPATHIAN FOREST. Both of them keep releasing records that piss people off. And even better, the people that are being pissed off now are the same ones that used to enjoy pissing off others back in the day. That's irony for you.”
