34 years ago this month (June 12, 1989), DEATHROW released their fourth full-length studio album “Deception Ignored” via Noise Records.
Background:
Following the subsequent tour for the bands 1987 album “Raging Steel”, founding member Thomas Priebe left DEATHROW and was replaced by former Mekong Delta guitarist Uwe Osterlehner. Where DEATHROW were previously more in line with their Teutonic brethren; Destruction, Sodom, and Iron Angel, the addition of Osterlehner influenced the band to shift toward a more intricate, Progressive Metal style for “Deception Ignored”.
The album features more intricate, complex harmonies not unlike those of US Progressive Metallers, Fates Warning. Although it was the band's most successful album, financial problems led to differences with Noise Records and the band did not accept the companies offer to release another album under their label.
