35 years ago today, Helix ran “Wild in the Streets”.

On this day (June 21) in 1987, Helix released their sixth full-length studio album, “Wild in the Streets” via Capital Records.

Background:

“Wild in the Streets” featured the title track and a cover of "Dream On" by Nazareth. One song from the album, "She's Too Tough" was written in 1985 by Def Leppard vocalist Joe Elliot. Def Leppard's version of the song was intended at one time to be on their “Hysteria” album, but it was never released until 1993's "Heaven Is" single, and later 1993's “Retro Active” album. “Wild in the Streets”, was recorded in England with producer Mike Stone, and was plagued by extensive takes and remixes. Still, the album went gold in Canada, but only managed a disappointing No. 179 on the Billboard 200 in the United States. The band would lose their U.S. deal with Capitol Records soon after.

The original Canadian cassette issue of this album came in a glow-in-the-dark cassette shell.
